Years after initial touchdown, the New Dawn colonist initiative would reach a total population of one million on the dwarf planet Ceres. With the assistance of powerful exosuits known as ‘Frames’, the planet’s twelve colonies would achieve full sustainability.

100 years ago, Ceres disappeared. At first, it was believed that communication to the colonies was disrupted. It was only once a supply freighter that was slated to restock at Ceres was forced to activate  it’s distress beacon did we learn that the planet was missing.

A century later, Ceres has reappeared inside the asteroid belt again, fusing with the artificial communication satellite ‘Signal Wind’. Analysis of the amalgam indicated no bio-signatures remaining among the remains of the twelve colonies.

But the planet was far from dead.

The Frames used to construct of the twelve colonies are alive, moving without programming. For 100 years the Frames fought, piloted by what remains of the twelve tribes of Ceres.

Dead Planet Ceres is my take on the multiplayer combat game genre. Players build a team of massive mecha and fight one another in duels to the death. DPC seeks to combine the list based army building of games like Warhammer with the team-building and battling of games like Cassette Beasts or Pokemon.

Each match supports 2-4 players, with games that are between 30-60 minutes. Players will print out the 'Pattern Groups' which contain both the Frames they will battle with and their Modules: Weapons, Armour, and more. The sheets for the Pattern Groups double as game mats for the various frames. In addition to the printed Pattern Groups and a pencil, DPC needs at least one six-sided dice for each player.

The initial rules and the first set are PWYW, and will receive more updates as I ramp up towards the eventual final release. Additional sets will be released, but these will cost 2-3 dollars each.

For now, just donating some money with your download for the base rules is enough.  I have more ideas for DPC, but those will be announced closer to the game's final 1.0 release. Right now, the best thing you can do to support the game is show your friends and to play it at your local game stores, or during your board game nights.

The game is absoloutly amazing and I'm so hooked onto it! I played a few games playtesting for Koko and it's just really good fun, the teambuilding is really good, and so is the gameplay in general, balancing winning effectivly while politicing with the other players is such a good time, highly recomend!
